247GP FAQs
Are the GPs located in the UK?
How does the on-demand GP service work?
The GP service is fully on-demand, so there's no need to book in advance. Once registered, members can typically connect with a UK-registered GP within one minute via live text chat or video appointment. GPs can issue prescriptions and referral letters.
How many times can I use the GP service?
Unlimited. Members can use the text and video GP service as many times as they need throughout the year.
How does my family member access the GP service?
Open the app and navigate to Your Health & GP, then click on the on-demand GP service. If a family member hasn't been added yet, select the ‘Add Family Member’ button and complete the required details — they will then be listed for access to the GP service.
How do I register my family or dependants on the GP service?
When setting up the GP service for the first time (powered by partner Abby), register a partner and children by entering their date of birth and details. Once stored, booking appointments for them becomes straightforward. It's best to do this proactively, before an
appointment is actually needed.
Can the GP prescribe medication?
Yes, but these are private prescriptions, so payment is required for the medication when collecting from a pharmacy. Anyone with an existing repeat prescription through their NHS GP should return to that surgery to renew it, rather than starting a new prescription through this service.
Can the GP provide a referral to a specialist?
Yes, GPs can issue an open referral, valid for both private and NHS use. For private use with health insurance, the referral should be submitted to the insurer. For NHS use, the registered GP surgery may need to be consulted first, as they may require the
patient to see their own GP before processing the referral.
Can the GP provide referral letters?
Yes. GPs can issue open referral letters which can be taken to an NHS GP for onward NHS treatment, used for self-pay private treatment, or presented to a private medical insurer.
Can I obtain a Fit to Work certificate from the GP?
Yes, a Fit to Work certificate can be obtained from the GP if unwell and documentation is required for an employer. This service is available exclusively in the GP Video section of the application and cannot be issued via the chat facility.
Are there situations where I should not use the digital GP service?
Yes. It should not be used for emergencies — call 999 or go to A&E. It is also not recommended for anything related to pregnancy or fertility; the NHS should be used for these. For ongoing repeat prescriptions, members should go back to their NHS GP rather than initiating a new prescription through this service.
Your questions answered
What makes Roam different from other smart trackers?
Roam is the only tracker that works with both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub — no subscription, no extra apps, no holder needed. The built-in elastic strap attaches instantly to keys, bags and bikes, and the Smart QR code means someone can return your lost item even when Bluetooth can't reach it. One tracker. Everything covered.
How does Roam attach to my belongings?
Roam features a built-in pull-up elastic strap that attaches instantly to keys, bags, bikes and more. No cases, no clips, no extra accessories needed.
How long does the battery last, and can I replace it?
Roam runs for a year or more on a standard CR2032 battery — the same coin cell you can pick up at any supermarket or convenience store. When it's time to replace it, just swap it yourself in seconds. No tools, no sending it back, no buying a new tracker.
Is Roam compatible with my smartphone?
Roam works with both iPhone and Android. iPhone users connect through Apple Find My — already built into iOS. Android users connect through Google Find Hub — no extra app needed. Setup takes under two minutes.
Does it work with both Apple and Android "Find My" device network at the same time?
Roam works with one network at a time — either Apple Find My or Google Find Hub. Switching between them takes less than a minute: just remove it from your current app and re-pair. Most people set it and forget it.
Can I share access to my Roam tracker with family or friends?
Yes — share access through Apple Find My or Google Find Hub with anyone in your family. It's useful for shared items like a house key or family bag. If you're tracking multiple items across the household, our Family Pack gives everyone their own tracker at a better price.
How secure is the data from my Roam device?
Your location data never touches our servers. Roam uses encrypted Bluetooth communications through Apple and Google's own secure networks — the same infrastructure that protects millions of devices worldwide. Only you can see where your tracker is.
What are the Roam Smart Tracker Specifications?
